How will the NPRC affect reviewers? How are reviews handled?
The NPRC aims to reduce the load on reviewers and editors by reducing the number of times a manuscript is reviewed. The forwarding of reviews is handled directly by the editorial offices of the consortium journals. Reviewers for Consortium journal are required to allow the content of their reviews to be forwarded if the authors resubmit their manuscript to another Consortium journal. All Consortium journals agree to keep reviewers anonymous to authors.
Reviewers will be offered the option of whether they wish to permit their identity to be revealed to other Consortium journals.
